I love Farmhouse style. These little mini crates add the perfect rustic touch to my coffee table. We are slowly transitioning everything over to farmhouse/rustic and I love making things to add to our décor. These Farmhouse crates are easy to make and add so much to the room.
I got these mini wooden crates from Oriental Trading. You can also find them on Amazon, Hobby Lobby, or other craft stores. I would personally buy them just a little bigger. These still turned out great! In these, I added wicker balls, pinecones and then a small vase with a faux lavender plant.
For the paint, I used regular white acrylic paint. Then I used my mouse sander to smooth it all out and distress it. I really love them. These would be great to put together and give as gifts as well. You can put so many cute things in these.
We have talked about making some more and then putting bags of mini cookies and other treats in them to give for Mother’s Day. I am excited to try it.
While these are very simple to make, you can really personalize them and make them your own. I am still debating on adding some twine and wood beads to mine, or maybe making a wood bead garland to drape along with them to kind of connect everything.
