Laundry Tip: add baking soda to laundry

Laundry is a chore that I haven’t ever minded. But learning the ins and outs of it (like stain removers, cleaners, etc) can all be a bit tricky. We shared a great stain removal guide here. Be sure to check it out if you need help removing stains. If you need a boost, add baking soda to laundry for great results!

One thing that I have always done is add vinegar to my laundry to help remove smells and keep the hard water at bay. But recently I learned that I should also be adding baking soda! Add baking soda to laundry

Want a little boost to your laundry? Simply add baking soda when you use your washing machine. What does baking soda do for your laundry? It gets whiter whites and brighter colors. It also softens the water, so you can use less laundry detergent too!

Simply add 1/2 cup of baking soda to the bin when you put in your detergent. If you have a front loader, you only need 1/4 cup! Baking soda also increases the potency of bleach, so if you use bleach in your laundry, you can use less of that too.

You can pick up a 13 lb bag of baking soda at Sams Club or Costco and it will last through a lot of loads of laundry! Who knew baking soda was so handy?
