We were able to screen the movie in order to bring you this Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One Parents Guide. All opinions are my own.

As a long-time fan of Mission Impossible – I am very excited about this new addition to the series. Tom Cruise had me in the first Mission Impossible and I have been a fan of him ever since. I love his dedication to each role, his passion, and how he immerses himself in each role completely. This movie is no different. I also loved the new storyline and some of the old characters that made an appearance.

While the movie is a great addition to the Mission: Impossible series, you can also watch it as a stand-alone film and fall in love with it and follow. I love that they brought it all to the table, so to speak so that you weren’t left wondering what was going on or why.

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence and action, some language, and suggestive material. It runs for 2hr 43m.

There are no end-credit scenes for Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One.

Sex & Nudity – 2/5 – Partial nudity during a club/party from the dancers in the background. Otherwise very clean.

Violence & Gore – 4/5 – Shows gunfights, knife fights, hand-to-hand combat, people dying, explosions, stabbings, hangings, and more.

Profanity – 2/5 – 5+ uses of God (GD, OMG), other uses of damn, and a few other swears. Nothing much. One half cutoff pronunciation of What the Fu__.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking – 1/5 – Shows some drinking, smoking, etc but it’s not the focus of the movie or scene.

Frightening & Intense Scenes – 3/5 – The whole movie is very intense. There are only a few parts that don’t show action, and even those you have to be paying attention to what is going on.

The movie is pretty violent/intense, but there isn’t a lot of graphic violence (blood, guts, gory stuff) and I would recommend this for 8+ depending on your child’s ability to handle action movies. If you aren’t sure, go see it first – you will definitely want to watch it again.

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One is a fantastic addition to the series. Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt is one of my favorites and I am so glad to see him continue to do this role and not only do it – but blow it out of the water. The whole cast did fantastic and I think that Hayley Atwell is a great addition to the cast. Be prepared to wait until June 2024 for the second installment of the movie!
