This Honey Garlic Chicken slow cooker recipe is so simple and tastes absolutely amazing! Put all the ingredients in first thing in the morning and cook all day for an easy dinner.
I used frozen drumsticks and put them in the slow cooker, added a few basic ingredients like lemon pepper seasoning, (already minced) garlic, honey, bbq sauce, and a bag of frozen diced onions from our freezer. It took me about 4 minutes tops to put it all together and then I let it cook for about 6-8 hours. That is (definitely) longer than it needed to be cooked, but everyone loved how the meat just fell right off the bone. It was tender and flavorful.

This recipe can also be adapted to chicken breasts, thighs, wings, etc. Use whatever your favorite kind of chicken it and add the ingredients below.






Honey Garlic Chicken Slow Cooker Recipe
I will be honest, I didn’t measure my ingredients out so these are estimates of what I used. You can add more or less depending on what your family likes.
Ingredients:
- 5 lbs of drumsticks (frozen or fresh)
- 1 tbsp Lemon Pepper seasoning
- 1 1/2 cups BBQ sauce
- 2 tbsp minced garlic
- 1/4 cup Honey
- 1 cup diced onions
Directions:
- Put the chicken in the slow cooker and turn on high (for 3-4 hour cooking time) or low (for 5-6 hour cooking time)
- Sprinkle the Lemon Pepper seasoning over all the chicken
- Add BBQ sauce and stir
- Add Honey and Garlic and stir
- Add Onions and more BBQ sauce if necessary and stir
- Cover with a lid and cook on high (for 3-4 hours) or low (for 5-6 hours) or until meat reaches an internal temp of 165 degrees.
This is great served with coleslaw, corn on the cob, and fresh rolls!
