I am a stay at home mom of four, but it hasn’t always been that way. I worked and worked hard (physical labor) up until about 10 years ago, and that kept me in shape. Over the years since then, I have fought some weight battles, fluctuating from a healthy weight to being 20 or 30 lbs overweight, partially because of pregnancies, but also because of unhealthy eating habits. After my last baby was born (over 5 years ago) I never worked to lose the baby weight. A couple of years later my sister got sick with cancer and I was her primary care person, and during the time she lived with me, I gained another 25 lbs. Over the last year and a half – I have gained another 15 lbs. So in the last 5 years, I have gained about 70 lbs (between the pregnancy and then just bad eating habits). Looking back, I remember after my third child was born, how I wanted to lose weight, and with good eating and exercise, I was able to loose about 40 lbs. Seeing the results of your hard work is a great motivator, but I am at the point in my life where I want to be healthy and lose weight for my family so that I can play sports with them, go on bike rides, runs, hikes and more without feeling like I am going to die (lol). So when I was given the chance to try the Jenny Craig weight loss program, I knew that it was my ticket to get me back on track and where I want to be heading.
I have been on the Jenny Craig program for several days now and I am excited to share what my experience has been so far. If you are unfamiliar with Jenny Craig or are looking for more information then I can honestly tell you that I am super happy so far. The food is amazing and tastes just like the food I would cook for myself (only better), save it is portion controlled and is helping me learn healthy eating habits that will serve me for the rest of my life. It is not a “diet” where I am limited in what I eat, rather is it a weight-loss program that has been clinically proven to support it’s members lose weight and learn how to keep it off. Just in the 4 days I have been on the program, my husband and even my kids are starting to make better choices and being more conscientious of their portion sizes and food choices. We are working together, supporting each other and getting healthy as a family.
In addition to my family for support, I have had a great Jenny Craig consultant that I talk to on the phone (you can also do in-store consults as well as on your computer). She is very helpful, answers all of my questions and helps me identify all of my challenges and how I can overcome them as well as create unique weekly goals and help with my meals and activity plans. It is so nice.
