I have been a mom for a long time. My oldest is almost 13 years old, but for the 9 months I carried her in my tummy I was pretty much sick the whole time, so I count that as part of my “motherhood” years. For going on 14 years now, my life has been primarily focused on my kids and family. Most of the time I don’t care because I love them and want to make sure they are healthy and happy, but sometimes I just need a break.
It is about finding a balance so that I don’t fall apart. It can be especially hard when my kids get sick, especially my youngest because she is very needy. That is why I am grateful for Pfizer Pediatric products like Children’s Advil®, Children’s Dimetapp® and Children’s Robitussin® because they work hard to help my little ones feel better so things can get back on track. This allows me to take care of my other kids and even have some “me time”.
When sick hits the fan, your needs come last. But a mom can dream, right?
This is just a glimpse of what it is like when our kids are sick. Anyone who has had to be around sick children knows what I am talking about. Recently my daughter got sick with a cold and cough. You would have thought it was the end of the world. She wanted to stay home from school and didn’t want to do anything, etc etc etc. Children’s Dimetapp® did a great job of helping relieve her symptoms so that she could get back on track and focus. Little things like helping reduce fevers, relieving cold and cough symptoms and body aches are all so important because then your kids can rest better, perform better and ultimately you get to have a little more time because you don’t have as much to deal with.

Balancing motherhood and “me” time can be tricky. But with the help of Pfizer pediatric products, you can be sure to have a little extra time when your kids get sick.

I have my husband watch the kids when I workout.
I ensure I have dinner out with my friends monthly. We stay out for hours, talking and laughing over food and drinks. it is just a way to catch up and be reminded that we too deserve our time.
Something I do to balance me time from motherhood time, is to take time every night to myself. After the kids go to bed, I do what I want, read, my hobby, watch tv, etc. Housework is something that I will do in the day.
Organizers, plan ahead
Have my child in bed by 9.
I have a weekday off that I get a few hours to myself when everyone else is at work or school!
I have to plan ahead. Staying organized is key.
Honestly not much, because I work second shift and rarely even get to see my kids. SO the weekends are jam packed with activities.
I try and take a walk everyday. by myself. for about an hour… it really helps me clear my mind!
Take an extra long shower while my husband is watching the kids!
I am not a mom yet, but I am an aunt to a wonderful and curious nephew. Sometimes he visits us and occasionally stays overnight so that his parents can relax a bit.
