Tropicana Las Vegas – a Double Tree by Hilton Review

My husband and I recently went on a romantic getaway to Las Vegas. We spent four amazing days there and had many new experiences. One of them, was staying at the newly renovated  Tropicana Las Vegas – a Double Tree by Hilton. I remember going there when we were on our honeymoon in 2003, and when I walked into the hotel again for the first time in 11 years, I was blown away and how amazing and how different it looks.

Prepare to be surprised. Tropicana Las Vegas – a DoubleTree by Hilton redefines the expectations of today’s global travelers with a recently completed $200 million transformation that provides a casually elegant experience on the Las Vegas Strip. With a unique South Beach vibe, the hotel features all-new rooms, suites and luxury villas that evoke the sentiment of a breezy beach house or penthouse in Miami, a fresh redesign of the 50,000-square-foot casino, several award-winning restaurants, a new race and sports book, and Glow®, a Mandara Spa and fitness center. First-class entertainment includes headliners in the all-new Tropicana Theater, Laugh Factory comedy club and live music in the Tropicana Lounge.

It is more open, cleaner, brighter, and very elegant. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was a whole different experience. There were many things I LOVED about this hotel – the top two being how amazing the rooms at the Tropicana Las Vegas are, and the other was the location. When you are in Vegas, it is a pain to park and walk at every place you want to visit.

The Tropicana Las Vegas resort itself is really big. There are 1,467 guest rooms, suites, and villas. They have a beautiful swimming pool and lounge area. The pool closes fairy early (at 7 pm) but we were informed that is pretty standard for any hotel on the strip, so take that into consideration when you plan your trip if you want pool time it will have to be during the day. There are plenty of slots and tables to play at while you were there. You can go see a show, eat at a nice restaurant, check out the amazing views from different points around the resort, and more.

We stayed in the Paradise Suite in the Paradise Tower. The room was perfect. I was so excited that we got a room on the end (facing the strip). The view was amazing and I loved all of the windows all the way around the bedroom and living room.

The living room, bedroom, and bathroom were all very spacious. There was a nice desk area in one corner, and a beautiful furniture set, TV, and sofa table where we kept most of our stuff on while we were there. The living room and bedroom have separate thermostats which I loved.

The bedroom had a nice VERY comfortable bed with fabulous bedding, and great side tables that each have a lamp. The lamp has an outlet on it, which makes it nice and easy to charge a phone, laptop, or whatever else you need plugged in.

There is a nice chair and dresser that has a big HDTV as well. The closet was nice and had robes in it. In the bathroom, there was a nice large vanity that we were able to put all of our stuff on and still have left over counter space. The mirror was large too which was nice when we were both in the bathroom at the same time getting ready.

I would have loved for the shower to be a bit bigger, but the shower head was amazing and made up for it. I also would have liked to have a little better lighting in the bathroom by the mirror, but they did provide a vanity mirror to use that was lighted.

The Tropicana Las Vegas has a great location, that makes it easy to stay and play or go exploring. The M&M factory, and Coca-Cola factory are a 8 minute walk on way, and the Hershey’s Chocolate Factory, and the Pepsi Factory are an 8 minute walk the other way. We were also able to find many places to eat that were close, including the fabulous restaurants inside the Tropicana Las Vegas. There is complimentary Valet service for everyone at the front entrance. We used it once, and felt like we had to wait a little too long, but it was very busy and I am impatient lol. This is normal. There is also a laundry/dry cleaning service as well as a business center that caters to the needs of all those needing these services. There is a fabulous spa, a large fitness room, and plenty of bars to keep you happy.

We were also able to take a tour with Olivia and Lucy, and learn about the Wedding and reception, and party accommodations. They have several beautiful places where you can get married, have a reception, or even just throw an amazing party. We were able to tour the Havana Room. It is amazing. It also has access to a private pool. It is a world-class wedding destination and has many different locations that will make you feel like you are in the tropics. They have the abilities to cover everything from makeup and hair to catering the food and even the wedding cake! No details go overlooked and you can relax and enjoy your special day.

I love that they offer packages for every budget! You can have a small intimate wedding with everything from flowers and photos provided, and spend less than $350!. They have many locations like the Chapel, Arbor, Terrace, or Ballroom to hold ceremonies in. They have private Bridal waiting areas, a personal wedding coordinator, flowers, photography, champagne, cake, food, decorations, and more! They personalize every wedding to your needs and help you get the most you can and have the best day possible.

This looks like a great hotel to stay at when I’m in Vegas. I’ll have to check it out on my next visit.

Love the old car! I also love how it’s retro yet modern and of course has all of the amenities.

The Havana Room looks stunning! I’m grateful for reviews like this because when we go to Vegas we never know where to stay so we usually end up driving the five hours home.
