I was able to screen The Fall Guy in order to write this The Fall Guy Parents Guide. All opinions are my own.

There have already been so many great movies that have come out this year. And it’s only the beginning of May! I am gonna be honest here and say that this movie made my top 10 favorites list. I could rewatch this multiple times a year because it is just that good. So much humor and action that it really keeps you interested and having fun – but enough character development to really get you invested in the story and entangled in the story. Ryan Gosling (as Colt Seavers) and Emily Blunt (as Jody Moreno) do a phenomenal job together in this film – but Ryan Gosling really carries it. A couple of my other favorites were Winston Duke (as Dan Tucker) and Aaron Taylor-Johnson (as Tom Ryder).

Get ready for a fun ride – they pull out all the tricks and really intertwine a great story into this action-packed movie. I don’t want to give away any plot points. But I am giving a detailed parents guide below that may spoil things – so if you don’t want to know – don’t read it. Here is the easy version:

No sex/nudity
It is based on stunt guys – so it has a lot of action, fighting, intense scenes, and violence.
There is a fair amount if language (everything from 2 F bombs, to mild swearing)
It shows drinking (talks about drinking) as well as drug use (although this is unintentional)

SUCH A GOOD MOVIE! I really hope they make a second one.

The Fall Guy is rated PG-13 for action and violence, drug content, and some strong language. It runs for 2hr 6m.

There are reels of behind the scenes of the making of The Fall Guy showing all the stunt people and the main actors. When this is done it goes into a great mid-credit scene. Don’t miss this! When the actual credits start rolling, feel free to head out.

Sex & Nudity & Romance – 1/5 – It shows a couple kissing (she is sitting on the counter, he is standing in front) but this is mostly blurred out. There are also other kissing scenes. In a club/bar, it shows people dancing in the background and quickly pops to them in skimpy clothes. A character also makes a quip about a girl looking good in nothing. There is also a quip about “I never forget a fist” but referencing punching….There are also some low-cut shirts showing cleavage.

Violence & Gore – 3/5 – It is an action-packed movie with one thing after the next. There is a lot of hand-to-hand fighting, guns, swords, and multiple other sequences of fighting with multiple objects. There is some blood shown here and there – but nothing is graphic.

Profanity – 3/5 – 2 F words. 25+ uses of God, GD, Jesus, Jesus Christ, OMG. 20+ uses of shit. Infrequent use of damn, bitch, hell, ass, pussy, balls.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking – 2/5 – Shows characters drinking in multiple scenes. An unintentional use of drugs causes hallucinations and weird vision. Multiple conversations about margaritas on a beach.

Frightening & Intense Scenes – 3/5 – This goes along with the violence and gore. There are a few intense scenes – but they are made comedic, so you don’t really get anxious or scared.

The Fall Guy is a little adult-themed. I would recommend 12+ for this just because of the violence and language. (Honestly, it’s so good you could watch it to see if you want to take your kids, and still enjoy it just as much as the first time when you go back with your kids).
