STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI press event experience

This trip was sponsored by Disney. This does not affect my opinions and they are 100% my own. Yesterday we shared all about our trip to Disneyland to see the updated Star Tours: The Adventure Continues ride as well as Disneyland in all of it’s Holiday glory. It was such a fun adventure, so be sure to check it out here and see what you can expect and why you should make the trip. Today we have even more Star Wars greatness to share!

The Star Wars: The Last Jedi press junket was so incredible. I can’t wait to share more with you about that whole experience next week – and all of the amazing photos I got! 🙂 Today I am able to share more with you about the press event that they had after the junket. It was a blast with photo opps with BB-8, BB-9E,  Praetorian Guards and we even got to have a t-shirt made for us as well as play a AR game where we fought Darth Maul – I won the battle – and it was all so much fun!

We were also given these adorable Porg Mugs – which is going into my collection. You can get a Porg Mug from Zak Designs on Amazon.

Porg Mug from Zak Designs

This cute mug is hand-painted ceramic and holds about 11oz of liquid. It is perfect for a cup of hot chocolate in the morning. It is also BPA free. This mug will make a perfect gift for the Star Wars lover in your family. The new Porg character makes its debut in the new Star Wars: The Last Jedi movie and is really popular – which I am sure will be even more so after the movie comes out next week.

Leia, Luke, Kylo Ren and Rey Costume Vignettes

The costume displays were amazing. I loved seeing them and reliving scenes in my head from the movies. Very cool!!! I am blown away by all of the details that go into these costumes.

Disney Consumer Products Display

All of the new toys, clothes, and products that they had on display gave me some great ideas for Christmas and birthday gifts. There are so many amazing things you can look forward to, or many of which are available now!

X-Lab Virtual Reality Demo

I was able to play a new AR Star Wars Jedi Challenges game. It is so cool. It is made by Lenovo and comes with the headset, a lightsaber, and a tracking beacon. I was able to play a round where I fought Darth Maul. It was very cool to see the Star Wars world mixed with our real world. Since it is Augmented Reality – you can see through the headset to what is actually going on around you and also see the AR display. The lightsaber is great and very responsive. This is definitely something that kids and adults alike will like to have under the tree at Christmas!

Movies Anywhere Lounge

One of my favorite new apps on my phone and other devices is Movies Anywhere. I was able to visit the fun Movies Anywhere Lounge where we learned about new and upcoming features as well as check out some of the cute pillows they had on their comfy couches. If you haven’t tried Movies Anywhere, you need to download it and set it up. It is free and connects all of your accounts like Amazon, Google Play, Vudu and more so you have one place to watch everything.

Disney Parks – Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Sketches

This is something that I am really excited about! They are creating a Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge area at Disneyland and Disney World – and it is going to be incredible! We were able to see little bits and pieces of what we can expect and I can’t wait to see it all when it’s done.

Ample Hills Ice Cream

I love Ice Cream – and it is even more fun when it is Star Wars.

T-Shirt Making Station – I got BB8

This was a blast. I got to pick out my design and watch them make my shirt. I am sharing a video on Instagram so be sure to check that out! I love my shirt and my kids were little sad that I didn’t get one for them 🙂

Praetorian Guards and Coralie Seright and Di Ranere

These Praetorian Guards were so intense. I loved how much fun we had while taking pictures with them. Just in case you are wondering, these guards are tasked with the protection of Supreme Leader Snoke (Played by Andy Serkis). I can’t wait to see more of these characters in The Last Jedi movie!

BB-8 and Coralie Seright

This is probably my most favorite part of the event. I was able to talk to BB-8 and he even recorded a video with me for my kids. This full-size BB-8 droid gave me heart eyes – and I know that my son would have lost his mind – he is a long time fan of BB-8.

BB-9E and Coralie Seright

BB-9E is a droid in the service of the first order. I am not sure if he and BB-8 will cross paths and what will happen, but I can’t wait to find out.

There was so many amazing things to experience at the Star Wars: The Last Jedi press event and I am going to continue sharing on my social media channels – so be sure to follow along on  Twitter, Facebook and Instagram as well as the hashtag #TheLastJediEvent.  Stay tuned next week as well as we share about the Star Wars Press Junket, and our interviews with Gwendoline Christie (“Captain Phasma”), Laura Dern (“Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo”), Domhnall Gleeson (“General Hux”), and Kelly Marie Tran (“Rose Tico”).
