Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Parents Guide

I was able to attend a screening in order to write this Sonic the Hedgehog 2 parents guide. All opinions are my own.

I really loved Sonic the Hedgehog 2. The movie picks up a few months after the first one ends (so if you haven’t seen the first one – you will not get a lot of the things going on in the second one). Dr. Robotnik is exiled to the mushroom planet. Sonic is trying to find his way and grow into himself. And it introduces two new characters – Tails and Kunckles. I felt like the storyline flowed great and didn’t drag. I also loved how much humor there was – and most of it was clean!

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is a great family film. It is amazing! And perfect for all ages to enjoy together. Sonic fans will cheer during triumps and be drawn into the more dramatic scenes of the movie. Overall a great watch and fun to see with your family.

SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2 is rated PG for action, some violence, rude humor, and brief mild language.

SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2 runs for 2 hours and 02 minutes.

There is a mid-credits scene after the fun 8-bit cartoon credits. But when the real credits start rolling you can head out.

Sex & Nudity – Some cleavage from low-cut dresses/tops.

Violence & Gore – Battle scenes between the characters. The egg machines attack characters with bombs, lasers, etc.

Profanity – Several uses of God, some uses of hell, Crude inuendos. One character talks about the groin being the weak spot.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking – Some characters are shown drinking alcohol, or talking about drinking it.

Frightening & Intense Scenes – An avalanche, characters almost drowning, the end battle

Overall I would say any age for this one if you are comfortable with them watching it. It is very similar to the first one as far as “violence” etc. There is a lot of humor, and it has a great message.
