Simon & Schuster is partnering with me for a giveaway!

I am always looking for good books to read – but one of my favorite things to find is a really good series. Keeper of the Lost Cities by Shannon Messenger will capture your attention in the first few pages. The story develops and grows, pulling you in emotionally and keeping your interest until the very last page.

Fortunately, books 1-6 are already out. That makes this the perfect series for summer reading! You can get them in paperback, or digital or even on Audible in an audio book (which I have gotten, and LOVE).

Get hooked on the Keeper of the Lost Cities series

Just to let you know how good these books are, I started reading book 1, and my daughter saw it and asked about it. I told her some basics and she said it sounded good. Next thing I know, I find her reading the book and passing where I am (which never happens).

I also love that the books are great for girls and boys alike. My 9-year-old is enjoying it as much as all my girls and myself. It is a fantastic fantasy series with characters that you can relate to. If your family likes Harry Potter, The Unwanteds, or other books that are similar, they will love the Keeper of the Lost Cities.

Keeper of the Lost Cities series and memorabilia

The first book starts off with when Sophie is 12 years old. There are things that are different about her and she isn’t sure what to think about it all. (like she is telepathic, and graduating high school as a 12-year-old). Soon, she meets a boy named Fitz, and everything changes in a matter of days.

I don’t want to give anything away about the books – because they are just SO GOOD! Make time to read this with your kids. It will one of the best things you do together this summer! On a side note – even if you don’t have kids – you will still love these books.

Shannon Messenger graduated from the USC School of Cinematic Arts, where she learned—among other things—that she liked watching movies much better than making them.

She’s studied art, screenwriting, and film production, but she realized her real passion was writing stories for children. She’s the New York Times and USA Today-bestselling author of the award-winning middle grade series, Keeper of the Lost Cities, as well as the Sky Fall series for young adults.

Her books have been featured on multiple state reading lists, published in numerous countries, and translated into many different languages. She lives in Southern California with an embarrassing number of cats. Find her online at ShannonMessenger.com.

Here are the books in order:

  • Book 1: Keeper of the Lost Cities
  • Book 2: Exile
  • Book 3: Everblaze
  • Book 4: Neverseen
  • Book 5: Lodestar
  • Book 6: Nightfall
  • Book 7: Flashback (also out in paperback, October 8, 2019)
  • Coming This Fall Book 8: Legacy (releases November 5, 2019)
Keeper of the Lost Cities books

When Sophie Foster discovers she’s an elf from the Lost Cities, she embarks on an incredible adventure, discovering new abilities, and making new friends. But the secrets of Sophie’s past were buried for a reason and the truth she uncovers could put all of the worlds in danger.

  • Exclusive branded art prints and pin
  • A “We could all use a little more weird in our lives” quote t-shirt!

Per a friends recommendation, I checked out all seven books from the library and read them all within 3 days. I would love to own a copy of the series of my own to experience the characters and adventure all over again. Such a fun read!!
