Giveaway/Review: LotusBumz Cloth Diapers

I recently had the opportunity to use cloth diapers for the first time. This was a big deal for me, because I have four kids and I have NEVER used one before. In fact, to be honest, I was a little overwhelmed at the thought. Since I do have four kids, I was worried about how much EXTRA work it would take to change the baby, clean the cloth diaper and then wash it so I can use it again the next day. After a few days of using them, I won’t lie, it wasn’t without a little effort, but it was not as time consuming as I had imagined it to be. I have been using cloth diapers from LotusBumz.com.

The first major thing I want to point out is how much more economical and cost effective cloth diapers are. I have a 4 month old baby girl, 2 year old boy, and a 4 year old girl who is still night training. We go through diapers like crazy. This brought up two questions : (1) I wonder if using cloth diapers would cut my costs because I would be able to reuse them? and (2) if I was using cloth diapers, how much extra time would I have to spend cleaning them since I go through so many?

After just 1 day of using them, both of my questions were answered. Keep in mind you would have to do laundry every other day, but that would be your only out of pocket expenses once you have purchased the cloth diapers. So for the price of one months (or maybe two) worth of disposable diapers, you could have a set of disposable diapers that in my opinion are so much better. I didn’t feel overwhelmed or unable to spend the few extra required minutes needed to clean them up and do the laundry. I really enjoy using them.

As far as the diaper itself goes, they are actually really amazing! Super easy to put on and several different fasteners to choose from so that the diaper will fit right. They are stretchy and what looks like they would be comfortable, yet fitted and absorbent. I didn’t have an issue with “leaking” while using them, although I am sure at some point it will come up. I seem to have that issue every other day with one of my kids, so it won’t be anything new.  They are made very well, and sturdy. I am not worried at all about them falling apart or wearing out quickly.

My 4 year old daughter who is night training, has to wear pull-ups. She has always been allergic to the stuff they make the pull-ups (and even diapers) out of, since she was born. So she would have a red itchy rash on her bottom, all the time because I didn’t know what to do. But these have been amazing. The cloth diaper held up just as good on a roley poley 4 year old sleeping, and if she did have an “accident” while she was sleeping, it din’t leak! I am so excited about this.

A huge thanks to Lorain with LotusBumz.com for helping me through it all, and letting me try her awesome ‘LotusBumz’ diapers out! They are such great diapers.

Overall, I couldn’t be happier with cloth diapers. It is a great experience and I totally feel like everyone should try it at lest once. SO, thanks to Lorain, one Lucky Utah Coupon Deals reader, will one a Cloth Diaper (of your choice, shipping included) from LotusBumz.com! Giveaway will run from 1/24/12-2/3/12. Winner will be chosen using random.org and announced and email on 2/4/12. Winner will have 24 hours to respond, or a new winner will be chosen. Open to US only. Good Luck!
