Gone are the days of me running back to the store because I forgot to buy soda. Now I get to make it! Aside from the stove, I think the SodaStream is the most used thing in our kitchen. If you have been thinking about getting one, I am letting you know that I totally recommend it and think that it is a smart investment. Especially if you and your family drink a lot of soda. We actually don’t buy a lot of soda because I hate the expense and the room that it takes to store it. The SodaStream makes it more affordable for us. It also takes up about 1/8 of the space all the soda would if we were to have the same amount of soda on hand as we have mixes for.
One thing my husband uses the SodaStream for is making energy drinks. Since he works graveyards, he sometimes has a hard time staying awake. Since we don’t drink coffee, there wasn’t much else he could do besides munch on snacks. I made a 1 liter bottle of the SodaStream energy drink and sent it to work with him. He just took a sip every now and then and he said he didn’t even feel tired at all throughout the whole night. On the drive home he didn’t even feel sleepy. It works great. The SodaStream saves us a ton on money there, because one little can of energy drink is like $2-$4, and you can buy a whole bottle of mix for only about $7-$9. These bottles make about 12 liters, making it so that you are only paying $0.67 for a liter of energy drink! You can’t beat that.
We make it about every other day, just a 1 liter bottle, to share between the five of us (since little baby girl is too small to drink it) and it works out for us each to have a glass. It’s perfect. I love having the Root Beer flavor on hand because we love Root Beer Floats, and we use the sprite one to make Floats with sherbet.
My whole family agrees that it tastes just as good as the soda you buy at the stores. I personally think it tastes better. I love that I can make fruit flavored ones. My favorite is definitely the cranberry-raspberry. YUM!!! It is so good! I love sparkling fruit-flavored water drinks, and this is the best one I have ever tasted. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that I can just take cold tap water, fill the bottle, add some carbonation and mix and have a drink!
Using the SodaStream is very easy.
The first thing you do is fill up the bottle to the line. It is very well-marked and easy to read.
Then you twist the bottle onto the SodaStream machine.
Once the bottle is attached, you push the button on top four times (fairly good pushes. not too long, but not to short or you won’t have enough carbonation).
After the water is carbonated, you untwist it and hold the bottle at an angle while you pour in a cupful of the desired flavor.
Put the lid on the bottle and turn upside down then back up a couple of times to mix it (DO NOT SHAKE!) and it’s done. It takes all of about 2 minutes to do this.
My kids love to watch me make it because of all the bubbles that go into the water. It’s really cool. The major benefits of us having this in our home are (1) It takes us less space, (2) Its is less expensive, and (3) we get to choose what flavor we want and make enough that we will drink it without having leftovers to worry about keeping cool or storing. It is also nice knowing that my using our SodaStream we are able to keep that many more bottles out of landfills or spend resources recycling the empty bottles.

I was give a SodaStream to do this review, but all opinions are 100% my own!

i didnt know that 1 container makes 50 refills
and the best of all the cola is only 35 calories vs coca cola that is 110 every 12oz
I learned that the bottles are reusable
I learned 10 stores by me sell this
They have the flavors cherry cola & cranberry rasberry
! Yum!
I learned that consumers are reducing their CO2 footprint every time they make soda or sparkling water at home instead of buying it from the store with Soda Stream.
want one really bad
All SodaStream regular sodamix uses a mixture of Splenda® and sugar.
Thanks! I learned it turns tap water into sparkling water in under 30 seconds!
Thanks for the chance to win!
