Extreme Couponing Tip: How to Double Coupons at Stores

Learning how to double coupons can seem tricky, but there is really nothing to it! Simply look for the sale items and see if there is a coupon that goes with it! I know that I would love to visit a town that has stores that double and triple coupons! I can’t even imagine how much more money I would save. While I feel like I do very well saving around 60-90% most of the time with the sales and coupons, I would love the extra savings from the double and triple coupons. Smiths ( our local grocery store) used to have a round-up, where they would round all coupons up to $1, and I LOVED going shopping during those sales because I got lots of free and cheap items. They still have good sales though so we still do ok.

So on to my tip… 🙂

If you live in an area that has a store that doubles and/or triples coupons, start shopping there. Here is an example of the difference in the savings you can get:

REGULAR PRICE
Carnation Evaporated Milk $1.19
Final Cost $1.19 

WITH SALE
Carnation Evaporated Milk $0.69 (on sale)
Final Cost $0.69 

WITH SALE AND COUPON
Buy (2) Carnation Evaporated Milk $0.69 each
Use the $0.50/2 coupon
Final Cost $0.44 each

WITH SALE AND COUPON THAT IS DOUBLED
Buy (2) Carnation Evaporated Milk $0.69 each
Use the $0.50/2 coupon (will double to $1 off)
Final Cost $0.19 each

You can see that you have the potential to save $1 per can!!! That is a huge savings! This is just one example of the deals you can get every week! You won’t get everything on your list for a sale/coupon discounted rate each time you go shopping, that is why it is important to stock up on the things that are on sale when they are a great price. This way you will have paid a discounted rate for the item and don’t have to pay full price for the item next time you need it.

Taking advantage of the sales will save you a lot. That is where you start. Next you go to coupons because that will save you another big amount. Then look for Catalina, double /triple Coupon opportunities and you will see savings immediately.

HOW IT WORKS:

$0.25 = $0.50
$0.30 = $0.60
$0.50 = $1.00
$0.60 = $1.00
$0.75 = $1.00

basically any coupon that is less than $1 will double UP TO $1.  So any thing  $0.50 and under will double and  anything above $0.50 will give you $1 off!

STORES IN UTAH THAT DOUBLE COUPONS:

• Ridleys double coupons on Tuesdays only
• Walmart (in Utah County) double coupons on Tuesdays only. (this means you can get up to $1 off)
