I was able to screen Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves in order to write this Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves Parents Guide. All opinions are my own.

I wasn’t sure what to expect going into this movie. I don’t play D&D so I am not super familiar with it. I was excited about the cast and the trailer I watched looked funny and engaging. Within 5 minutes of the movie starting, I was already in love with it! Chris Pine (Edgin) and Michelle Rodriguez (Holga) are phenomenal together. They really steal the show. Over and over again.

The special effects are on point. The storyline catches you immediately and then just doesn’t stop. It creates this fantastic, fun, engaging world and you just more and more. The story moves well and doesn’t drag. It also doesn’t jump around or make you confused. It is very well done, and easy to understand and follow. The story is unpredictable but always has a purpose.

You will love the natural humor. The movie is hilarious. The character development is so good. I felt like I knew each of the characters well by the end of the movie. Casting did a great job – as I think each one was perfect for their role and did a fantastic job in it.

For people who have played D&D, you will be thrilled by the references to The Evermoors, Baldur’s Gate, and other locations, as well as so many characters and creatures that are brought to life.

Overall, this movie blew me away. I really loved it. Get ready for the unexpected! A fun journey that you won’t want to stop.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves opens 3/31/23 in theaters

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is rated PG-13 for fantasy action/violence and some language. It runs for 2hr 14m.

There is one end-credit scene for Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. There are some fun fancy entertaining credits rolling, and then a cut scene. When the main credits start rolling, feel free to head out.

Sex & Nudity –  0/5 – Shows a couple fully dressed laying under a sheet together (actually a sweet memory). Shows cleavage from one of the main characters occasionally. There is an insinuation of rape. Shows a man getting out of a tub who slips. He is covered but just barely.

Violence & Gore – 3/5 – Several fight scenes. Uses of weapons, hand-to-hand combat, and magic. Characters are trapped in a maze. Gel turns them into skeletons.

Profanity – 3/5 – Several uses of Shit (5+), Several uses of Damn (5+) and once with GD, SOB 2+ times, Uses of God.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking – 3/5 – Several scenes with beer or similar in bars/taverns as well as parties.

Frightening & Intense Scenes – 3/5 – Orc looking creatures. A character who is poisoned – dying, creepy demon creatures in the shadows, zombie demon creatures, and several “dark” looking characters. Several fight scenes with magic. Big wolves trying to eat people (and catching some and chasing others). There are several jump scares. A man getting hit by a giant wave and getting washed away.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is a fantastic movie! I don’t know much about Dungeons and Dragons itself, but very much loved the movie. My kids and husband know more about it and loved all the references and life they brought to the game. I would say 10+ on this and preview it before taking younger kids.
