We received copies of the movies for review. We are also sharing our candy popcorn recipe. All opinions are our own.
One of my all-time favorite Disney cartoons has always been Aladdin. When I found out about the live-action remake, I was actually really excited. I went into the theater a little hesitant because I wasn’t sure what they would bring from the cartoon and what they would change, but I can honestly tell you that I loved it as much as the cartoon.
To celebrate the in-home release of not only the live-action Aladdin but also the Signature Edition of Disney’s Aladdin, we made Aladdin candy popcorn! It is really easy to make and taste yummy. I did blue for the Genie, Turquoise/Teal for Jasmine, and Red for Aladdin/Jaffar. My kids loved it. You can also make this and put it into themed popcorn buckets for your Aladdin movie night!

Aladdin Candy Popcorn
To make your candy popcorn you will need:
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tbsp of butter
- food coloring (I used blue, red, and I made turquoise from 5 green and 6 blue)
- salt to taste
- you can also add flavor as desired (1 tsp.)
After you have your ingredients. I would recommend mixing your colors (or putting them) into glass bowls/measuring cups. Then they will be ready when the sugar mixture is done. Also, separate your popcorn ahead of time if you are doing different colors.
To make the sugar mixture, you will add the butter, sugar, and water together and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Once it is starting to boil, lower the heat to medium-low and boil for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
When the mixture is done, you will either add the food coloring and flavor (optional) or ladle it into the separated cups/bowls. I mixed mine with a toothpick. Use a wooden spoon to mix the popcorn around after you pour the sugar mixture over it until everything is well coated.
Take the popcorn out of the bowl and put it out on a parchment paper or silicone baking mat and let it cool for a few hours. This will make it so it isn’t sticky and it’s really easy to bag.
