Disney The American Presidents Review

I have always been partial to history, mostly because my father was a history teacher, but also because I love learning about things of the past. That is something that I have tried to pass on to my kids, but there is so much to remember and learn, sometimes things get jumbled up if you are just telling them about it. This is where books and movies are good helpers while educating our kids. In my opinion the best resource for young children to learn about the Presidents of The United States are the Disney The American Presidents DVD set.

There are four DVD’s to the set:

Disney The American Presidents Volume 1: Revolution and the New Nation & Expansion and Reform
Disney The American Presidents Volume 2: Civil War and Reconstruction and Development of the Industrial U.S.
Disney The American Presidents Volume 3: The Emergence of Modern America & The Great Depression and WWII
Disney The American Presidents Volume 4: Postwar United States & Contemporary United States

Disney The American Presidents DVD’s are a great resource, not only for in your home, but also for teachers who want to share Interactive learning with their kids. These DVD’s are white board compatible, and brings the presidents to life with activities, learning, and more.

As we watch The American Presidents DVD’s we learned things that I had no idea about. If you want your kids to pay attention while they are learning, this is a great way to get them educated about some very important facts and details of our history without them getting board. I felt like the time spent on each president was sufficient for us to learn without us feeling like we were watching a documentary.

There is also an app that is available through the iTunes store. The Disney American Presidents: Unofficial Office Scrapbook App is another great resource to reinforce the things that they learn, as well as teach them new details.

The app was developed with the help of a producer from The Daily Show and Colbert Report and offers a fresh, fun dive into all 44 presidents (including Obama) with an interactive scrapbook, cartoons & animations, and even real-life testimonials from luminaries like Mo Rocca, Bob Woodward, Paul Begala, Wesley Clark, Sam Donaldson, Melissa Harris-Perry, Robert Reich, and Jon Meacham. From homesteading to trust busting, the app brings each historical time period to life with music, videos, art and more.

I was given a set of these dvd’s and a code for the app in exchange for this review. This did not affect my opinions and I only recommend products that I believe will be valuable to my readers.

The Hall of Presidents at Disneyland was a favorite of mine when I was little. I expect that these dvds will live up to Disney quality.
