BumbleBee Toys Review

I love the Transformers series. So when I found out that they were making a movie about BumbleBee (really, our favorite transformer), I was beyond excited! We saw it in theaters and loved it, and couldn’t wait for it to come out for us to own.

Don’t wait to get the movie. It just came out on Tuesday. Pick it up now (along with some fun toys) and have a great family movie night – and this is one that you will enjoy watching again and again. It is clean with very little language, and the violence isn’t too heavy or intense.

They have been anticipating the in-home release for a while, so when we were sent a special BumbleBee box, my kids couldn’t wait to show it off!

We have had so much fun playing with all of these, but the two that they play with the most are the Stinger Blaster and the DJ BumbleBee. With the DJ BumbleBeeYou can record yourself saying something “like we love BumbleBee” and BumbleBee sings it as part of the song. There are three songs and three dances he does. You move the left arm up and down to change the songs and the right arm goes up and down to change the dances.

Our BumbleBee movie review

We love the movie. It is packed with action, but also has a great storyline that gives you BumbleBee’s backstory, how he lost his voice, and what happened to his home planet, Cybertron.

The emotional connection that is developed between Charlie (played by Hailee Steinfeld) and B-127 (BumbleBee) will hook you. She does a great job of pulling you in and taking you along for this fantastic ride of a small town girl who is missing her dad and a little lost in life. The special effects and are phenomenal and hard to tell that they are in fact CGI.

To be honest I wasn’t in love with John Cena, but he fit the character well, so it was easy to get past. Other than that, the movie was tender, funny, and full of action. This is one you will want to add to your Transformers collection (or use it to start one 😉 ).

BumbleBee synopsis

Cybertron has fallen. When Optimus Prime sends BumbleBee to defend Earth, his journey to become a hero begins. Charlie Watson (Hailee Steinfeld), a teenager trying to find her place in the world, discovers and repairs the battle-scarred robot, who’s disguised as a Volkswagen Beetle.

As the Decepticons hunt down the surviving Autobots with the help of a secret agency led by Agent Burns (John Cena), BumbleBee and Charlie team up to protect the world in an action-packed adventure that’s fun for the whole family.
