It can often be hard to take a step back and slow down enough to find balance in your everyday life. The world we live in surrounds us with constant noise. From our phones, TV, movies, books, education, daily tasks, and even personal care, we often get caught up in the busyness of it all and In a world that moves faster every year, many of us feel stretched thin. Between family responsibilities, work demands, church service, and the constant noise of modern life, it can feel nearly impossible to find balance. Yet the gospel of Jesus Christ teaches that peace, steadiness, and order are not only possible but promised to those who seek Him.

Finding balance is not about doing everything. It is about focusing on what matters most. It is important to find balance by letting the Savior steady your steps. Focus on creating rhythms that support both spiritual and emotional well‑being. Below is a thoughtful, uplifting guide to help you build a more balanced life—one that honors your faith, your family, and your personal growth.

7 Ways to Find Balance in a Busy World

Start With the Savior at the Center

Balance begins with where we place our foundation. Christ taught, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33). When we put Him first—through prayer, scripture study, and intentional discipleship—clarity follows. Decisions become simpler. Priorities become clearer. Peace becomes more accessible.

In everything you do, put Jesus Christ first. Start your morning with prayer. Reach for your scriptures instead of your phone. Journal daily and write down everything – this will help cleanse your mind and keep it open so you can focus and find solutions instead of worrying about the problems. Remember to include Christ in everything, and he will help guide you through the good and the bad.

Create Rhythms, Not Rigid Schedules

Many people try to find balance by organizing every hour of the day. But balance is not about perfection. It is about rhythm. A rhythm allows for flexibility while still giving your life shape. Consider creating simple daily anchors such as:

  • Morning prayer or scripture study
  • A consistent family routine
  • A set time to unwind in the evening
  • Weekly worship and Sabbath rest
  • Time away from devices to let your mind reset and recharge

These small, steady practices create a sense of order even when life is unpredictable.

7 Ways to Find Balance in a Busy World

Let Go of the Myth of “Doing It All”

One of the greatest barriers to balance is the belief that we must excel in every area at once. The Savior never asked us to do everything. He just wants us to try and do our best. Effort is more important than perfection.

President Russell M. Nelson taught that the Lord “loves effort,” not perfection. When we release unrealistic expectations, we make room for joy, rest, and spiritual renewal. Balance grows when we stop comparing our lives to others and focus on the quiet, steady progress the Lord is helping us make.

Protect What Matters Most

Finding balance requires boundaries. In a busy world, everything feels urgent, but not everything is essential.

Ask yourself:

  • What truly matters in this season of my life?
  • What brings me closer to Christ?
  • What strengthens my family?
  • What drains my energy without adding value?

Asking these questions regularly helps you choose intentionally rather than reactively. It also helps you say no with confidence when needed. It’s ok to say no to people if it doesn’t work for you, your family, or your time.

Build Time for Rest and Renewal

Rest is not a luxury. It is a commandment and a spiritual necessity. The Lord created the Sabbath as a weekly reminder that our souls need restoration. Often, we can feel lazy if we are not constantly doing something, but taking time to just stop and relax and take in what is going on around us is so important as part of the renewal process. Appreciate what you have as you look forward to tomorrow.

Rest can look like:

  • Quiet scripture study
  • A walk outside
  • Time with family
  • Creative hobbies
  • Stillness and reflection

When we rest, we reconnect with the Spirit. We hear promptings more clearly. We feel more grounded. Rest is one of the most powerful tools we have to find balance.

Invite the Spirit Into Your Daily Decisions

Balance is not only about time management. It is about spiritual alignment. When we invite the Spirit into our choices, we receive guidance that helps us avoid overwhelm and focus on what truly matters.

The Spirit may nudge you to slow down, simplify, or reach out to someone in need. It may prompt you to let go of something that no longer fits your season. These small impressions help shape a life that feels purposeful rather than chaotic.

Allow Grace to Fill the Gaps

Even with the best intentions, there will be days when life feels unbalanced. That is part of mortality. The Savior’s grace fills the spaces where our strength ends. We will make mistakes every day. Learn and grow from them and become a better version of yourself. Don’t be too hard. Give yourself the same grace you would give to someone else.

Balance is not a destination. It is a continual process of adjusting, listening, and trusting. When we rely on Christ, we find that He steadies us even when life feels uneven.

Final Thoughts: A Balanced Life Is a Christ‑Anchored Life

To find balance in a busy world, we must build our lives on the Savior, simplify our priorities, and allow space for rest and renewal. As we do, we discover that balance is less about managing time and more about aligning our hearts with Him.

A balanced life is a peaceful life. A peaceful life is a Christ‑centered life. And a Christ‑centered life is always within reach.
