We were able to screen the movie in order to share this The Addams Family 2 parents guide. All opinions are my own.
The Addams Family 2 is a great movie. There are a couple of parts that had me rolling my eyes but my kids loved them. The overall theme of the movie is a family road trip so the Addams can spend more quality time together. A scientist finds out about one of Wednesday’s science experiments and wants it for himself, so there are some twists and turns from that. There is a lot of adventure and fun. Our Addams Family 2 parents guide goes over anything we thought would be a problem (there isn’t much really).
Overall the movie is well done. It is a perfect sequel to the first one. I think that Charlize Theron as the voice of Morticia Addams, Oscar Isaac as the voice of Gomez Addams, and Chloë Grace Moretz as the voice of Wednesday Addams all play off of each other so well. Each is able to bring to life the character through fantastic voice talents and really capture me in what is going on. The flow of the movie was great. I didn’t feel like anyone part dragged on too long and there is a lot of changes in scenery and they added a lot of different elements to make it fun and exciting for all ages.
You will also enjoy the voice talents of Nick Kroll (Uncle Fester), Javon ‘Wanna’ Walton (Pugsley), Wallace Shawn (the lawyer), with Snoop Dogg (Cousin ‘IT’), with Bette Midler (Grandma), and Bill Hader (Cyrus Strange).

The Addams Family 2
The movie is rated PG for macabre and rude humor, violence, and language.
It runs for 1 hour and 33 minutes.
There are NO The Addams Family 2 end credit scenes so you can head out when the credit starts to roll.
There are some spoilers below. If you don’t want to read through it – I believe that the movie is great for all ages. There isn’t anything crazy, too intense, or scary for even the youngest viewers.
The Addams Family 2 Parents Guide
Sex & Nudity – Other than Morticia’s dress which is cut low – but doesn’t show cleavage or anything – there is nothing. There is one reference to tentacles being tender – and I immediately thought of testicles – but it probably wasn’t meant that way.
Violence & Gore – A man is captured over a cliff edge and then is let go. A giant mutated chicken and giant octopus fight. Wednesday is always trying to “kill” Pugsley. Pugsley starts the science fair on fire. Pugsley blows up the Grand Canyon. Wednesday builds a guillotine out of the sand and gets Pugsley to lay on it and the sand falls like it’s the blade. This happens fast and most kids won’t understand what it means. It is more funny than morbid.
Profanity – None – just talking about violence (nothing graphic or crazy) between Wednesday and Pugsley.
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking – Cousin IT and Kitty “high” on catnip, some mixed drinks being served,
Frightening & Intense Scenes – The whole theme of Addams Family is macabre so there is a lot of unusual things. I don’t think there is anything too creepy or scary for even the youngest viewers.
About The Addams Family 2
Everyone’s favorite spooky family is back in the animated comedy sequel, The Addams Family 2. In this all-new movie, we find Morticia and Gomez distraught that their children are growing up, skipping family dinners, and totally consumed with “scream time.” To reclaim their bond they decide to cram Wednesday, Pugsley, Uncle Fester, and the crew into their haunted camper and hit the road for one last miserable family vacation. Their adventure across America takes them out of their element and into hilarious run-ins with their iconic cousin, IT, as well as many new kooky characters. What could possibly go wrong?
