I received a digital copy of The Kid Who Would Be King in order to facilitate this post. All opinions are my own. We are sharing Sword in the Stone Cupcakes.
The Kid Who Would Be King came out on Blu-ray and DVD today was already available to own on digital. This is a fun family movie that gives a great twist on a classic story, bringing the characters to life.
Our review of The Kid Who Would Be King
The movie is packed with action and such great special effects. I love how they take a medieval story and make a modern day story. Weaving a tale around Alexander and his life growing up. How it weaves the two worlds (world of Alexander and the world of Merlin) together and he learns about who he really is and what he must accomplish.
Sword in the Stone Cupcakes
We love cupcakes and making them themed around the new movies that come out – so we had to make Sword in the Stone cupcakes for this one!
These are simple to put together and really fun to make. My kids loved how they turned out and tasted.
You will need to print off the SWORD cupcake topper printable (preferably on cardstock) and then attach those to long toothpicks.
You will also need 15 crushed (finely chopped) OREO’s, chocolate buttercream, and cupcakes.
You still start by making your cupcakes (you can do a box mix or make homemade). While they are baking and cooling you will print out the Sword in the Stone topper and cut them out and put them together. I used long
We made a homemade chocolate buttercream frosting and then topped it with the crushed sandwich cookies and it turned out AMAZING!! (I used my food processor to crush the cookies).
After the cupcakes have been cooled, you will want to frost them with the chocolate frosting and immediaietly dip the whole frosted end into the crushed OREO’s to cover the top of the cupcake with cookie crumbs. This will look like dirt.
Then you will take the sword topper that you made and insert it into the “stone”. These were a hit with my kid and their friends. While we used them for our The Kid Who Would
