Planes: Fire and Rescue Review

Planes: Fire and Rescue Review

Our family gets to see a lot of movies, so when my kids watch a movie and then they tell me that it is one of their favorites, that means a lot. I have to agree with them about Planes: Fire and Rescue. It is such a great movie.

The movie starts off with Dusty realizing that he needs a new gear box in order to fly. He gets frustrated and goes out at night trying to “prove a point” and ends up doing a crash landing that starts a fire. Mayday (Prop Wash Junction’s fire truck) has some problems and so Ryker (the guy from the TMST) comes and shuts everything down. He tells them they need everything updated and another certified fire fighter.

At this point in the movie, Dusty decides he will become the other fire fighter and heads on over to Piston Peak National Park to train and become certified. He meets Dipper, Blade Ranger, Cabbie, Windlifter, Maru, and the Smoke Jumpers (and of course many other characters) here. The story turns more intense as the movie progresses with major incidents with Blade Ranger and Dusty.

The movie is packed with action, humor, and a story line that will keep your kids entertained just as well as you. There are so many little things (like the “Hoist” drinking game) that you will have to watch it again just to find. There is a lot more adult humor in this movie but it is clean and funny. You may recognize the voices of Harvey and Winnie – they are played by Anne Meara and Jerry Stiller. The whole cast did so great. Dane Cook is back as the voice of Dusty, with Ed Harris as Blade Ranger, and Julie Bowen as Lil’ Dipper.

The movie is in theaters so head out and watch it this weekend and come back and let me know what you think!
