I cannot compete with anyone I know, so I try not to think about it.
Sorry but I really don’t have a story even similar to this. I stay at home most of the time and don’t have a lot of neighbors.

I try to stay away from that type of competitiveness after witnessing my grandparents spend money extravagantly to have everything bigger and better than their neighbors.
I do not have one.
I do not have a story. I go against the grain. i have no desire to have more stuff than the neighbors. i like to be a minimalist.
My mother in law! If my husband and I buy anything for our daughter, my mother in law is going out and buying the niece the same thing. Over the years she has mellowed down, but this lady has herself in so much debt attempting to keep up with her own family. It’s actually really sad.
