The all-new family comedy Freakier Friday is available on digital retailers (Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV and Fandango at Home) on October 7. Then on November 7, 2025, you can get it on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K UHD.

“Freakier Friday” reunites the comedic talents of Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan in a sequel to Disney’s beloved 2003 family classic “Freaky Friday.” In the film, Curtis and Lohan reprise their roles as Tess and Anna Coleman. “Freakier Friday” is directed by Nisha Ganatra, and the screenplay is by Jordan Weiss, with a story by Elyse Hollander and Jordan Weiss based on the book “Freaky Friday” by Mary Rodgers. The film, which also stars Julia BuQers, Sophia Hammons, Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Rosalind Chao, Chad Michael Murray, and Mark Harmon, is produced by Kristin Burr, p.g.a., Andrew Gunn, p.g.a., and Jamie Lee Curtis, with Ann Marie Sanderlin, Mario Iscovich, Nathan Kelly, and Lindsay Lohan serving as executive producers.

~ THE STORY ~

It’s been 22 years since Anna (Lindsay Lohan) and Tess (Jamie Lee Curtis) endured an out-of-body identity crisis and switched bodies for one event-filled weekday. Tess Coleman is now a successful psychologist preparing to embark on her first book tour. As wife to Ryan (Mark Harmon), mother to Anna, and grandmother to Harper, she is fiercely devoted and a constant presence in everyone’s lives, but she does tend to overstep her boundaries from time to time.

Anna, meanwhile, has her hands full juggling a stressful job as manager to popstar Ella (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan), who is in the midst of a painful break-up, which is affecting her creativity and confidence. Anna is also a single mother to teenage daughter Harper (Julia Butters), a 15-yearold die-hard surfer who is having a hard time relating to her mother. When Anna meets Eric Reyes (Manny Jacinto), a single parent and a successful chef with his own restaurant, it is love at first sight. But Eric has a daughter, Lily (Sophia Hammons), a 15-year-old transplant from England who dreams of returning to London to study fashion, and she is adamantly opposed to her father’s burgeoning relationship with Anna. Anna and Eric are convinced their two families can indeed exist as one, and they soon decide to get married.

As they navigate the myriad challenges that come when two families merge, Tess and Anna discover that lightning might indeed strike twice, as a premonition by Madame Jen (Vanessa Bayer) sends them on a brand-new body-swapping journey. Tess swaps places with Lily, and Anna swaps places with Harper, resulting in hilarious shenanigans and extreme teenage makeovers.
