I can’t believe how fast November is going by. I am so excited for Thanksgiving and the chance to see my extended family for a few days. If you are preparing like I am, I am sure you are going crazy with a hundred things to do, but I have a simple and beautiful DIY Wood Cake Stand that you can make in about 10 minutes and it makes a great addition to the Thanksgiving table. To make this DIY Wood Cake Stand you will need the Wood Large Round Centerpiece from OrientalTrading.com. Then I picked up some coat hooks at my local hardware store. The size and color depends on what style you want.
First you will take a drill bit slightly smaller than the size of the screw and predrill a small hole about 1/8″ into the wood. Just enough to make a small mark where the screw will go in. I marked these with a pencil ahead of time.
After you have pre-drilled all the holes, screw the hooks onto the back of the wood centerpiece.
Your DIY Wood Cake Stand is now finished! You can stain it or leave it the with the natural look.
