DIY Beach Towel Frozen Easter Basket

Our family loves Easter – but I love to make it just as much about Christ as I do about treats and egg hunts and toys, etc. For that very reason we don’t spend a whole lot of time with the “Easter Bunny” side of it – but we do an Easter Egg hunt, color eggs, and they kids get a basket on Easter Morning. Next year I think we will make them more “Christ” centered – but this year we did traditional baskets. One of their favorites was the Beach Towel Frozen Easter Basket. I loved it because it game them something they love and will use (the towel) and we put fun things in it that they will have fun with – but not too much in the basket that it is overwhelming.

Making the FROZEN Easter basket was a lot of fun! I got Disney Frozen Beach Towels for the kids, but you can use any character/design. I folded it up, leaving about half way up – a layer of the towel on the inside. See picture below for more detail:

Once you get it rolled, tie a ribbon around it – and then you can “open” the pocket. I put a pair of pants in the bottom that were rolled up to keep it stable.

Once you get this part done – the rest is free sailing – you simply get to have fun creating and putting together the fun Beach Towel Frozen Easter Basket (or whatever character or style that you chose to do).

The ribbon around the bottom was a great support – I should have added one more around the top to make it more stable. We also make our own Peep Sticks. These were really easy and a lot of fun! I know my kids loved them.
