Disney Planes Movie Review

My son and I went to the pre-screening of the Disney Planes and let’s just say I was totally delighted at how great it was. The movie starts out by getting right into the plot of the movie and keeps your interest for the whole show. There weren’t any lagging parts that would cause your little ones to get board. It is a great family movie made just for the kidlets and they will love every minute of it. There are some parts that are “adult humor” (as in most kids wouldn’t get the joke), but they were not crude or bad.

Patterned after Cars (as in the characters were drawn in the same way, with the same kind of setting) – Planes takes you to a whole new level. It is really fun to watch the main character (Dusty) grow and not only learn about himself, but show that it is ok to be who you are and help and befriend others even if it could “put you in last place” or you could get made fun of. It is about showing who you really are and having character and determination and overcoming your fears. For my 6 and 8 year olds, they will totally get this message. For my 3 year old – it was just a really great movie about Planes. lol.

Be sure to print out these Disney Planes Coloring Pages and this Disney Planes Race to the Finish Activity Set

If you haven’t seen it yet, here is a clip where “Dusty Meets El Chupacabra”

We saw it in 3-D – and while the graphics were totally great, there really wasn’t any “off the screen” action going on – so unless your kids will sit through it with the glasses on – you may want to skip it.

Disney Planes came out on August 9 – so be sure to hit it this weekend with your family!
