I was extremely excited to be invited to do a review of the Carmel Room restaurant at the J.W. Marriot in Las Vegas. The hotel is beautiful and to be able to go from the casino straight to a beautiful restaurant was a plus. First of all, the Carmel Room is very prestigious. They are always full, so you need to be sure to make a reservation. Next make sure you dress for the occasion. You should dress your best because you are about to be pampered. Upon arrival we were greeted by the manager. We gave him our name for the reservation and he immediately took my wife by the arm and said “right this way, you look stunning! ” He escorted us to a beautiful section that was made more private with gorgeous drapes and still open enough that we could enjoy the atmosphere that was provided.

He brought out the professional cook who introduced herself and made several mouthwatering suggestions. The waiter assigned to our table was very professional, polite, and very clean mannered. The style of The Carmel Room  restaurant was very unique; modern, but charismaticly charming with an antique luxurious feel. The fabulous smell emanating through out, coming from the kitchen, made my stomach growl with excitement. We ordered and within 5 to 10 minutes our appetizers were delivered.

They offered us drinks and placed a container full of ice on a stand next to our table, and put our drinks in it to chill. From the shrimp, steak, mashed potatoes, pasta, and bread; to the Cheese cake and the creme Brule, we were in food heaven. I absolutely loved the sautéed mushrooms also. Half of the menu items I couldn’t spell or pronounce, and since I love trying new foods, I let the cook and manager explain and suggest favorites. We loved how visually stunning everything was. Not only was the taste succulent and savory, but the plates looked amazing.

There is not one thing that we had that we didn’t like. Everything tasted amazing and we savored every minute of it. The waiter was very attentive but not over bearing. It is an amazing place to go for a romantic dinner and I am so glad we were able to go there while we were in Las Vegas.
