Build-A-Bear Workshop Review - Thor Horse

I was SOOO excited to take my son to Build-A-Bear Workshop for his birthday. We went to the location in Fashion Place Mall in Murray, UT. The minute we walked through the front entrance you should have seen his face light up with excitement and surprise. He couldn’t wait to run off and grab the first stuffed animal he could get his hands on. The entire store was centered around the “build your own bear theme”. They had hundreds of different types of animals to choose from for building, and the employees helped us every step of the way treating me like a queen and my child like a prince.

Picking out the animal I want to be Thor

Build-A-Bear Workshop Review

Once my boy picked out his animal which happened to be a horse, he went over and they added the batting/stuffing using their unique machine. This was a fun step because they let him put some new stuffing into the machine and then they filled his animal completely full of the stuffing that he put in. Before they stitched it up, they let him pick out a special heart to put inside and he also chose a special noise maker which they put in the foot of the horse. When he pushed on the foot it made a horse sound.

Putting my Thor Horse together

Once the horse was stitched up he got to pick out an outfit. Since Mommy was going to the Thor: The Dark World Red Carpet Primere, he was excited to make the horse into a “Thor Horse”, his words!! They had the coolest looking Thor costume with a red cape and black boots. When he tried the outfit on, it was amazing how the horse came alive and really looked extremely cute. The outfit even had a hammer with an elastic band, so it stayed on the horses leg.

Love picking out the costume and shoes and getting him dressed

We were able to sit down at a computer and fill out the Horses Birth Cirtificate. It has the name of the horse and the birthday, (day the horse was built) and by (the name of my boy), as well as info like weight, eye color, etc. This was a really cute addition to the whole process and really made it personalized for him. It even had shapes on the keys so he could do most of the answers himself!

Putting the Thor Outfit on and making his Birth Certificate

When we checked out, they put the “Thor Horse” into a special box and printed the Birth Certificate that we made. What an amazing and fun experience that he still talks about! Thanks Build a Bear Workshop for a wonderful experience. I plan on going back and getting one for each of my other kids.

We’ve always loved build-a-bear. It’s a great way to get the children to appreciate their stuffed toys because after seeing it made, it becomes a little more personal.

Build a Bear is way too fun! I did it for the first time on a girls weekend away before kids. It was an American thing so we had to do it!! The next time I did it was for my oldest son’s first bday! It was so much more fun with kids!

    Coralie,
Build-A-Bear Workshops are a great place. Both my daughters had such a great time and their imagination ran wild so-to-speak! They each came home with a bear that they had specifically designed which made them very special! Thanks for the post, I enjoyed reading it!
