3 of my 4 kids going to school this year, so the back-to-school checklists have been a little crazy. They each have what seems like a zillion things they want but often we forget some of the most important things they need, like an eye exam. When my now 8 year old started Kindergarten, we discovered that she had a vision condition. We got her glasses which greatly improved not only her sight, but her confidence, attitude and more. Millions of kids have vision conditions that impact learning and with a simple eye exam, their life could be changed (literally).

We don’t have vision insurance and so it was pretty expensive to get my daughters exam and glasses, I wish we would have know about programs like VSP Direct™ then, but I am glad that we do now. VSP Direct™ is a great program that allows you to not only give vision insurance as a gift, but for every purchase, VSP will donate an eye exam and glasses to a child in need! You are able to give back twice and help kids in need. Go here GiveVSPDirect.com/eyegiveback.
All three of my kids going into school and even my toddler will get an eye exam before school starts this year so that we can make sure to address any issues before they become a problem. By the age of five, all children should have completed three eye exams, but 76% of children won’t have even received one eye exam. Family and friends can purchase vision insurance as a gift for someone they love for less than $17 a month (and don’t forget, when you buy a plan VSP will also donate and eye exam and glasses to a child in need).

Statistically, 1 in 4 children have vision problems. 20% of children struggle to read because of vision problems. By getting an annual comprehensive eye exam for your kids (and you), you can ensure that correctable visual problems don’t become permanent. As a parent or caregiver, we want to do the best we can and give our kids everything – this is something we can do that is easy and essential.

To help students see their full potential, VSP® Vision Care has launched #EyeGiveBack. Right now when you give the Gift of Sight, you give twice. When you purchase a vision insurance plan as a gift, VSP will donate an eye exam and glasses to a child in need, up to a total retail value of over $115,000. Find out more at GiveVSPDirect.com/
