If you are like me and life is always going 100 miles an hour, then this will help you as much as it helped me! You want to do Spring Cleaning, but finding time is a challenge. Well, here are some tips to help you get most of your Spring Cleaning chores done in 60 minutes! Even if you spent 10 minutes a day, you would have it done in a week! Let’s get started:
Gather everyone together and make this a family event! The more people helping, the faster it will go, AND it won’t seem so overwhelming to you. “Many Hands Make Light Work”
(tip: Start at the front of the house and move to the back. This will help feel like progress is being made and the parts visitors see first will be cleaned first!)
Be sure to wear gloves (thin medical like gloves work great) to help protect your hands.
To save time cleaning your outside windows, play furniture, chairs, etc you can use something like Windex Outdoor Multi-Surface Cleaner to clean everything using your garden hose. Then you just left everything air dry! This should only take about 15-20 minutes!
One important thing to do is to change your furnace filter! This will help cut down on costs as well as extend the life of your furnace! It also cuts down on dusting since the air is not being filled with re-circulated dust.
Take a few minutes to spray everything down (bathroom, counters, sinks, etc). Then walk away and let it all soak in and do its job. After you have sprayed everything go back to the beginning and start wiping it all down. If you sprayed the tub it the bathroom first, then go back there to start wiping first). This will save you having to stand around and wait!
Vacuum and/or mop the main living areas. While you are vacuuming/mopping consider opening up all the windows for a while and “airing” out your house.
If there are a few of your working on this, you might even be able to knock all the chores out in less than 30 minutes!
What Spring Cleaning Tips do you have?
Thank you for sharing these great tips. I always feel like I never have time to clean. Now that I think about it, I can just do each of those things one day at a time, instead of trying to wait until a full day that I am available to clean.
