15 Minute Apple Pie Recipe
I love apples and I love pie- but really my favorite part of apple pie is the crust. While tortilla’s don’t taste the same as a real pie crust, they are just as good. Filled with apples, cinnamon, and sugar and then coated with melted butter and more cinnamon and sugar, you just can’t go wrong. They taste so yummy straight from the oven, or great out of the fridge the day after. These are especially great for kids because they are eaten with your hands (not using a fork and plate), they are great for outdoor activities.
Once you have your tortilla cut in half and have spooned some apple pie filling or sliced apples that have been soaked in lemon juice and sugar, then fold it over and use a fork to crimp the edges together.
After you have it pressed, then spread a thin layer of melted butter over the whole thing.
Sprinkle with Cinnamon and Sugar (the more the better right ๐ )
Put in your oven at 450 degrees and cook for about 10 minutes. I recommend Parchment Paper under neath because the fruit/juice will leak out a little its really gooey and hard to clean off.
Don’t these just look SO YUMMY!?!?!? From start to finish I was able to make 8 of them (4 large tortillas cut in half) in about 5 minutes. Then they bake for about 10 minutes. This gives you 15 minute apple pie! Great for any thing (breakfast to dinner) and easy to make (great recipe for kids).
Ingredients
- 1 can of apple pie filling (or 2 cups of sliced apples, soaked in lemon juice and sugar to taste).
- 6 large tortillas (1 tortilla = 2 "pies")
- 1/2 stick of butter (maybe more) melted
- Cinnamon and Sugar
Instructions
- Take full tortilla and using a pizza cutter, cut it down the center so it is cut in half.
- Take one half, and spoon some apple pie filling or the sliced apples on one half. You may want to sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on the apples.
- Fold it over and use a fork to crimp the edges together.
- After you have it pressed, then spread a thin layer of melted butter over the whole thing.
- Sprinkle the top with Cinnamon and Sugar.
- Put in your oven at 450 degrees and cook for about 10 minutes.
Notes
I recommend Parchment Paper underneath because the fruit/juice will leak out a little its really gooey and hard to clean off.
Please feel free to leave a comment. I would love to know what you think!
love the fact that this looks simple enough for the kids to get in and help! thanks for sharing!
I have some apples left from apple picking and i need to use them thanks for this its great 1
HELP – I can’t get the tortillas to sea…. what am I doing wrong?
If you just push down with your fork all the way around – it might not “seal” tightly but as it cooks the butter and heat will seal the edges. A little of the filling juice might leak out, but shouldn’t be a lot.
