Christmas is one day you don’t want to be caught without any extra batteries. I had checked before hand and made sure had enough AA batteries, but neglected to check for the AAA. One of the toys my daughter got, of course, had to have AAA batteries. So I start digging around. I actually found three new Energizer Batteries and was so excited! I put them in and – of course – it doesn’t turn on. GRRRR.
So I start digging some more. In our game drawer (for wii remotes, accessories, etc) I found a 4 pack of AAA Walgreens brand batteries, and also a couple of batteries that were the RC Willey store brand. Both were bought over a year ago and forgotten about, but I was crossing my fingers anyways.
Sure enough, as soon as I got the Energizer Batteries out and put in these store brand ones, it turns right on. REALLY???
While I am not really surprised it totally confirmed to be that energizer batteries just aren’t as good as the competition anymore. I am a “Duracell Batteries Girl” and that it all we normally buy. After this experience, my hubby will remember now too. I have had this happen to me on several occasions with Energizer Batteries, were they will be dead when I go to use them, and they haven’t even been being stored for very long. I used to feel like they were a great battery, but not anymore. As a mother who goes through batteries more often I am finding which ones work better, and in this case Duracell is the best brand for shelf like and length of durability.
(NOTES: The nice thing is, is most office stores offer Duracell Batteries for FREE after rebates this time of year, so stock up! Also this is totally my opinion and no compensation was received. Just a how I feel about this post.)
